I made an exciting discovery this past weekend. I often listen to country music radio in the car, as its narrative quality helps keep me awake on long drives. This day, however, the country station drove me away, so instead, I scanned through the airwaves until a new station caught my ear: a Spanish-language talk show. The man elaborated upon wealth gaps and domestic abuse, speaking slowly and clearly but undeniably Spanishly. Nonetheless, it was perfectly clear to me. While I will always need more practice in this language (and all others), I suppose this means I can claim to speak Spanish now, más o menos!
While we’re here, I’d also like to share with you a video of some men on the moon, singing a song about being on the moon. This is genuine footage from the Apollo 17 mission, featuring the astronauts Gene Cernan and Jack Schmitt. Who knew astronauts were such fun?
I was strolling on the moon one day…
